The nursing home is old. The nursing home is filled with forgotten gods. Most importantly, in it is the sun god, Ra. The one thing Sadie and Carter need to stop Apophis. Sadie and Carter want to stop Apophis, the god of chaos, from swallowing the sun. However, there’s a tiny problem: they don’t know how. So with the help of their trainees, one of their greatest enemies, and their uncle, will Sadie and Carter succeed?

Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan will make you stay up, turning the pages. Before that, is my favorite part. Sadie walks into her old house in London. There’s no answer when she calls out to her grandparents. Although it is strange, there’s no cooking, no rugby on the television. The stairwell creaked. Out from the darkness is a vulture plume. Her Gram and Gramps are hosts. For the vulture goddess, Nekhbet, and the baboon god, Babi. This part may seem like not a big deal, but it is. I was angry. Angry at Nekhbet and Babi for betraying the other gods. It was heartbreaking for Sadie. Not only did she have to fight Nekhbet and Babi, but her grandparents too. She had to figure out a way to defeat them without hurting them. Sadie also learned that not all the gods are her allies.

A lesson this book teaches is that those who you believe are your enemies, may be your allies. Those who you believe are your allies may be your enemies. Nekhbet and Babi betrayed them for Apophis, and one of their enemies, helped them in the end. If you plan to read this book, there’s one value that’s amazing. The settings. They’re described so well, you feel as if you’re there. For example, when Carter reaches Zia’s tomb. (located on page 237.) He describes the flowing of the water, how a normal sarcophagus looks, and how the water was forming one exactly like a normal one. Furthermore, mythology lovers will love the history and gods of Egypt. Humor lovers will enjoy the Kane siblings wit and jokes. Book lovers will enjoy everything, from the strong characters to the plot. In the end, can Sadie and Carter stop Apophis from swallowing the sun and bringing the world to eternal chaos?
