Shot with a Remington rifle, the guys make a pact in the River Point woods to stick to the same story-- no one knows who was using the rifle that they threw in a pile as they ran to Grant's bleeding body. But, the killer does know.
John Michael, Shep, Henry, and Logan quickly get labeled the River Point Boys as they must leave their posh private school, St. Bart's, and enroll at the only public high school in Belle Terre, Louisiana. At Marshall, they become objects of curiosity, expecially for the senior, Kate Marino.
Kate is an intern in the district attorney's office and was texting Grant in the days before he was killed in the "horrible accident" (3). It doesn't take long for her to suspect that she didn't know Grant very well at all, and her boss, Mr. Stone, has every intention of determining who pulled the trigger on that Remington.
